Knees Knocking, Feet Moving: Finding the Courage to Say "Send Me"

Courage is not the absence of fear. It is choosing to stand, trust God, and move forward even when your heart is racing and your knees are shaking. In this blog post, I share a personal story and a biblical reminder from Isaiah 6:8 about having the courage to say yes when God calls.

What is courage but to stand and press forward in the face of adversity?

Courage is faith, hope, and strength all wrapped in one word. Sometimes we walk through life with a wealth of knowledge and beautiful aspirations — yet we lack the courage to act on them. Courage is doing what you know is right even when your heart is racing, your hands are shaking, and yes, your knees are knocking.

"How courageous are you? Can you stand and face your fears to do whatever it is God wants you to do?"

Can you press forward through controversy? Here is something I've learned: you must first have courage in the little things in order to build the courage needed for the great work God has in store for you.

Courage is faith, hope, strength, and the integrity to face adversity when adversity faces you. It is not the absence of fear — it is choosing to move forward anyway, anchored in the One who has already overcome.

Jesus once told a story about a man who traveled to a far country and entrusted his workers with his money. One hid it away, while others multiplied it. When the master returned, he rewarded only those who had the courage to grow what they had been given. The lesson is clear — God expects us to embrace the courage to increase His kingdom in souls.

The Parable of Boldness
A Mother's Fierce Love

My son, now a grown man, recently reminded me of a moment from when he was just eight years old. Three teenage boys pushed him off the basketball court. He came home crying. I set down my mop, walked to that court, and stood face to face with three well-built, healthy teenage boys. I did not back down — and they did. That was my son they were pushing around, and I was not going to stand for it. Needless to say, they apologized.

Many of us are fiercely courageous when it comes to protecting the people we love. But are we equally courageous when the will of God calls us into difficult places? There are times I have had to stand firm in what I know God has asked of me — and yes, as I face what stands against me, it looks well-built, healthy, and quite intimidating. Yet I stand and press forward in Christ Jesus, who is my strength.

"I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"
Isaiah 6:8

Today, I challenge you to have the courage to say, “Here am I. SEND ME!”

Send Me!
May God bless you, and may you courageously walk in the exact center of His will.
